Expanded by the Dutch for their East Indies spice routes, it is now one of the world’s most sought-after hardwoods. Valued for its strength and beauty, teak is used in high-end furniture, shipbuilding, and architectural details. Its high natural oil content makes it exceptionally weather-resistant and stable, making it the perfect choice for outdoor luxury furniture.

Caring for Your Teak Furniture

Teak’s natural oils mean that painting or varnishing isn’t required and may even cause peeling over time. Instead, here’s how you can care for your teak to keep it looking its best:

  • Winter Storage: For winter storage, it's best to keep your teak furniture in a water-tight garden shed or garage. Be cautious when moving your furniture from outside into a heated indoor space, as sudden changes in temperature and humidity may cause the wood to split.
